Our Mission

The International Misophonia foundation is dedicated to improving research, access to resources and awareness of Misophonia, newly recognized neurophysiological disorder that impacts quality of life of sufferers.
– The purposes of this non-profit are as follows:
– To provide funding end help initiate research for misophonia
– To engage in public advocacy campaigns and promote awareness for misophonia, and teach the public, clinicians, and sufferers, about the disorder
– To provide resources for clinicians, researchers, and the public on misophonia
– To facilitate research for misophonia through the development of a research journal
– To facilitate research for misophonia by conducting original research

Our Board of Directors

Shaylynn Raymond

Shaylynn Hayes-Raymond is an LCT-C with a MA in Counselling Psychology, BA in Political Science, and honours diploma in Creative Digital Media. Shaylynn is the director of the International Misophonia Foundation and a private-practice therapist in New Brunswick, Canada. Shaylynn has written numerous pieces on misophonia and has been an advocate for the condition since 2015. Shaylynn herself has misophonia and is a passionate mental health advocate both as a therapist and as neurodiverse advocate.

Amber Liponoga

I am an LCSW based out of Columbia, MO. I provide telehealth therapy services for adults who live in the state of Missouri. I have experience working with diverse individuals and have been working with individuals with mental health concerns and personality disorders for over five years.

Harrison Porter

My academic background concerns world religions and philosophy, with particular interests in interreligious philosophical debate and Buddhist psychology and ethics of compassion. Through connections with OCD and misophonia communities, I have been volunteering for the International Misophonia Foundation, both in an editorial capacity and as a member of their institutional review board. My hope is to facilitate the study of misophonia in a manner that is ethically sound and that observes a high level of scientific rigour, as well as to help disseminate this knowledge to further popular awareness concerning misophonia and sensory processing disorders.

Dr. Prashanth Prabhu

Dr. Prabhu is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Audiology at All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore, INDIA. He has completed his Masters and Ph.D in Audiology from All India Institute of Speech and Hearing, Mysore. Dr. Prabhu’s research interests are in the area of tinnitus, hyperacusis, misophonia, auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder, hidden hearing loss/cochlear synaptopathy. Dr. Prabhu has published more than 80 articles as author and co-author in reputed peer reviewed National and International journals. He is currently serving as an Academic Editor for the prestigious PLOS ONE journal, Review Editor for Frontiers in Audiology and Otology journal, and Assistant Editor in Journal of All India Institute of Speech and Hearing. He has also authored eight book chapters and has served as a reviewer for several reputed International journals.

Leticia Osei

Leticia Osei is a counsellor in Ontario Canada who attended the Master’s in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. Leticia has worked as a nurse since 2007 and has experience in numerous healthcare topics. Leticia has worked in public health and school positions and is a dedicated volunteer and member of her community.

Sharon Burns

Sharon is a Professional Tutor ot her local university where she assists students in their academic needs. She’s skilled in writing and researching, using them for Misophonia International to further their work. She is excited to have a front seat in Misophonia research.
