Heather Hodgins-Chan, BSc(OT), OT Reg. (Ont) is a registered occupational therapist and the co-founder of Pediatric Physio and Occupational Therapy. Having graduated from McGill University in 1999, Heather followed her physician husband on his residency travels to western Canada. She held various positions in acute care hospitals in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Edmonton, Alberta. She later became interested in pediatric rehabilitation and early intervention and after having re-located to Ontario, worked in Ottawa area schools as a consultant. Heather has had the privilege of working with many children ranging from newborns to teenagers. Heather has a specific interest in helping children with coordination difficulties, visual-perceptual challenges, and sensory processing issues. Heather has pursued intensive course work in Sensory Integration through the Spiral Foundation in Newton Massachusetts, has completed in depth education in the area of childhood trauma and psychosensory occupational therapy practice. She has been mentored by Kimberly Barthel, occupational therapist, international speaker, and neurobiologist with a special interest in trauma and attachment. Heather has a passion for working with children of all different abilities and believes that movement and exercise are keys to physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development for children.
She has two teenage sons of her own and enjoys keeping active with Pilates and spending time with her family.
