Dr. Nienke Vulink is psychiatrist and head of the department of anxiety disorders of the Academic Medical Center (AMC) of the University of Amsterdam. She studied medicine at the University of Groningen and obtained her PhD at Utrecht University with the thesis Feelings of incompleteness; Studies on dopamine in obsessive-compulsive disorder. Together with Damien Denys she wrote the book Body Dysmorphic Disorder (2011), the first Dutch handbook on this condition in which people have a morbid preoccupation with their appearance.
